CPR’s newsroom is ramping up to bring you in-depth election coverage this fall, including live results on Election Day.

CPR CLASSICAL PRESENTS LIVE BROADCASTS FROM THE COLORADO SYMPHONY

CPR Classical returns to Boettcher Concert Hall to bring you six live broadcasts from the Colorado Symphony’s 2014–15 Masterworks Series.

Coming up on Nov.1 at 7:30 p.m., the second broadcast features Marin Alsop conducting Mahler’s “The Titan.” Then, on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m., tune in for “All Beethoven” featuring pianist Jeffery Kahane. See the full live broadcast schedule, and watch this video interview to see what Music Director Andrew Litton had to say about the symphony’s new season, which debuted last month with Beethoven's legendary Symphony No. 9.

As the live broadcast season continues, “Colorado Spotlight” will also feature recordings of several Colorado Symphony performances on Thursdays at 7 p.m. with host Charley Samson.

Watch new episodes of ‘OpenAir Live & Local’

“OpenAir Live & Local,” the new 13-episode TV series developed in partnership with Colorado Public Television (CPT12), debuted last month and airs on Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. on CPT12. The first couple of episodes have already set the tone for the program:

"In this half-hour glimpse, you can experience a lot of musical diversity,” says OpenAir Program Director Mike Flanagan. “From songs by introspective artists like Gregory Alan Isakov, to rock from Mosey West, and Wheelchair Sports Camp’s pounding rhymes, we’re highlighting great local musicians with different styles for people to explore.”

The next episode airs on Oct.11 as host Alisha Sweeney shares music by Patrick Dethlefs, Born in the Flood, and more.

Meet CPR’s VP of Engineering

Thanks to the expertise and dedication of the engineering team, CPR can provide listeners with the best quality audio experience all day, every day. Engineer Dean Phannenstiel was recently promoted to lead this key team, charged with keeping CPR’s equipment and infrastructure running smoothly, including 26 broadcast sites across the state.

With his background in broadcast engineering, electronics, technology and forestry, Dean has the know-how to keep even the most remote transmitters in top shape. For Dean, traveling across Colorado is an added perk:

“Working in the engineering department affords me the opportunity to see many of the wonderful natural places in our state. Traveling to our transmitter sites for repairs or upkeep, I always enjoy the beauty of northwest Colorado overlooking Rangely and Meeker, the canyons of the Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, and the beautifully majestic mountains surrounding Ouray, Glenwood Springs and Vail. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work for CPR and help care for the signals that reach all of our listeners.”
